Ella M. Pulcher

1916-2002

(from The Reporter, July 26, 2000) - Eugene Arthur Pulcher, 91, husband of Ella M. (MacBeth) Pulcher, died July 23, 2000 at his home in Audubon. Born April 29, 1909 in Black Duck, Minn., he was a son of the late Camielle E. and Ellen (Sorrels) Pulcher. Mr. Pulcher was chief electrician for Philadelphia Electric Co. for more than 42 years, retiring from the Cromby Generating Station in Phoenixville in 1972. He was a member of Wentz’s UCC, Worcester, the Perky Promenaders Square Dance Club, the Lyceum Senior Center and the Callerlab International Association of Square Dance Callers. Mr. Pulcher received the Insull Life Saving Medal for rescuing a jolted co-worker. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Eugene of Wilmington, Del., Richard of Bear, Del., and Jack of Philadelphia; a foster son, Michael Smith of Collegeville; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Lucy Karstens of Cape May, N.J. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna (Foley) Pulcher, and his son, Paul.
